Dudley Council carried out a multi-agency enforcement operation at Merry Hill on 16 September, inspecting 51 school transport vehicles.
The operation focused on checking that school transport contractors maintain their vehicles to required standards and meet the terms of their council agreements. Drivers were asked to present evidence of correct licensing and insurance arrangements.
Inspection Results
No major faults were identified during the inspections. A small number of drivers received minor advice.

Councillor Wayne Little, cabinet member for children and young people, said: "Safety of our children and young people is paramount, and we work to ensure our school transport contractors adhere to the stringent terms of our agreement. Yesterday we undertook a multi-agency operation at Merry Hill, where we inspected 51 vehicles and drivers were asked to present information in order to ensure licence conditions were being met."
