Dudley apprentice Mandeep Dosanjh has won the West Midlands Advanced Apprentice of the Year award in the National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards 2026.
Mandeep, who works at Specsavers Dudley on Castle Street, received her award at The Belfry on Thursday 8 October. The official regional results name her as the winner of the BAE Systems Advanced Apprentice of the Year category for the West Midlands.
A second award this year
The recognition follows an earlier win at the Inspirational Youth Awards in April, according to the release supplied by Specsavers Dudley.
In the statement supplied with the release, Mandeep said: “I’m so proud of this win.”
She described working hard to develop her skills, take on more responsibility and make the most of opportunities during her apprenticeship. She also thanked her directors, managers, store team and colleagues across the Specsavers group for supporting her progress.
Store director Gurdeep Dosanjh, who is Mandeep’s father, said the team was proud of her achievement. He praised her commitment to improving her work and supporting customers and colleagues.
National judging ahead
The awards’ official guidance says regional winners progress to the national judging stage. The national ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday 25 November.
The Department for Work and Pensions programme recognises apprentices, T Level students, employers and people who champion skills.
