Stourbridge Town Hall has been upgraded with new seating and motorised moving equipment following investment from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
The Mayor of Dudley officially unveiled the improvements, which include new seats for the hall's moveable tiered seating and motorised movers to help staff reposition seating units more easily and safely.
The project received just under £80,000 in UKSPF funding split across two separate improvement schemes. The investment has modernised seating that was more than 20 years old and had deteriorated.
What the upgrades mean
The new seating will improve comfort for audiences attending events at the venue. The motorised system reduces the need for staff to manually move seating, making setup and reconfiguration more efficient and safer.
Kelly Martin, Manager of Stourbridge Town Hall, said: "The difference these improvements will make for our audiences is brilliant. Our previous seating was more than 20 years old and had seen a great deal of use over the years. The new cushions and backs are much more comfortable, helping to enhance visitors' experience when they come to enjoy a show, concert or event. The motorised movers will also make a huge difference behind the scenes, allowing our team to set up and reconfigure the space much more efficiently and safely."
Councillor Pete Lowe, Mayor of Dudley, added: "It's fantastic to see these improvements at Stourbridge Town Hall. The refreshed seating looks great and will make a real difference for everyone visiting the venue."
