Councillor Pete Lowe, Mayor of Dudley, has marked his first 100 days in office by reflecting on major community events and the borough's response to local challenges.
Since taking office in May, Councillor Lowe has used a #BOSTINDudley theme to champion local people, places and organisations. His focus has centred on celebrating community pride, inclusion, heritage, culture and community spirit across the borough.
Community events and response
The Mayor's first 100 days have been defined by significant events in Dudley, including the Black Country Festival and Dudley Pride. Councillor Lowe and the Mayoress, alongside seven mayoral ambassadors, have attended dozens of events and met thousands of residents.
The mayoral year has also been marked by the community's response to the Stourbridge fire, where Councillor Lowe highlighted the resilience, compassion and generosity shown by local people.
Spotlight on local heroes
Throughout his mayoral year, Councillor Lowe has aimed to shine a light on those who make a difference across the borough, from carers and volunteers to artists, athletes, charities and community champions.
Fundraising for local charities
Fundraising to support local charities has remained central to the Mayor's role. The launch of the Mayor's Bostin' Beer, the Charity Boxing Showdown and other community activities have helped raise funds and awareness for the Mayor's chosen charities.
Councillor Lowe said: "It has been a real honour and privilege to serve as Mayor of Dudley over these first 100 days, and we have set out from the beginning to do things differently. My message after these first 100 days is simple: we achieve so much more when we are united as one community."
